Julie Houghton

Julie Houghton trained as an actor, before gaining an arts degree and becoming an ABC journalist, radio producer and announcer. She is a freelance compere, professional narrator at Vision Australia, and is heard frequently on 3MBS as an arts interviewer. She is the music theatre reviewer for classicmelbourne.com.au, and is delighted to return again to perform at Arden Crescent. Julie has performed two successful short cabaret shows and is a professional reader in the Royal Melbourne Philharmonic Carols in the Cathedral Concerts each year. In 2016, Julie performed the role of Older Natalie in Wagner in Paris at Melbourne Recital Centre to great acclaim, for The Parlour chamber music group where she is resident actor. She is proud to be a patron of the Australasian Orchestra.
